A letter from the District Administrator: Mr. Michael Cox: Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,
The school year is off to a great start and the annual meeting is behind us. It was a difficult budgetary year, but I feel that this budget will provide the resources and finances needed to provide an excellent educational program. We were able to save jobs and still keep taxes low. Our mil rate of a projected 5.58 per 1000 is one of the lowest in Northern Wisconsin. The tax levy will increase to a projected 1.03%. This again, is one of the lowest in the area.
The Hayward Community School Distict's financial condition actually improved from last year and is in a very respectable position coming into an era of declining enrollment and decreasing revenue. The number of open enrolled students increased this year to 109. These are students from other school districts. Many of these students come to Hayward because of the quality of educational programs, the variety of classes, and the extra-curricular offerings we provide. Please feel free to contact me at any time for more information on why Hayward Community School District is a great place for students to learn. STATEMENT OF NONDISCRIMINATION It is the policy of the Hayward Community School District that no person, on the basis of color, sex, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, or physical, mental, emotional, learning disability, or handicap as required by s 118.13, WI Stats. may be denied admission to any school in this district or be denied participation in any curricular, extra curricular, pupil services, recreational, or other programs or activities. |
